Members sandycreek Posted July 2, 2009 Members Report Posted July 2, 2009 Hey Everyone, I had a request to make a tool belt. Specifically, a mechanics utility belt (not the pouched carpenters type). http://www.streetperformance.com/ART/PRODU...1452/G16-5F.JPG What I am looking for is something similar to the middle tie-down in the above image, but (obviously) something that can be put on a belt, and not on a pickup. The idea is that these rings or whatever they're called would be riveted onto the belt, then the guy can hang snap rings, key rings, tools, or whatever else from these rings. The specific instructions were "make it with those rings like you use on you're pickup bed." If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks all, -Aaron Quote

Members Echo4V Posted July 2, 2009 Members Report Posted July 2, 2009 I was going to say D rings also but if that's not what you want maybe you can look into the "black gear" that cops carry on their belts. The flashlight ring might be just the thing. david Quote
Members celticleather Posted July 2, 2009 Members Report Posted July 2, 2009 Maybe terret rings would fit the bill . . . although they may be too rigid. Abbey Saddlery have them at http://www.abbeysaddlery.co.uk/product_listing.cfm. Quote
Members Studio-N Posted July 2, 2009 Members Report Posted July 2, 2009 Is this the type of thing you are after? Do a search for 'plate staple' or 'staple plate'. These are available at most hardware stores for about a buck each. Quote
Members sandycreek Posted July 3, 2009 Author Members Report Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) Hey everyone, Thanks for the replies. I forwarded the pic of a staple plate. He kinda had his mind set on the beefier cast ring, but he thought the staple plate might work if nothing else can be found. I know I've seen those cast rings before, I just can't remember where.... Thanks again! -Aaron Edited July 3, 2009 by sandycreek Quote
