had someone at work wanting to know if i could do a tooling on a jacket he has i didnt know since it is an already finished piece of clothing but i knew someone on this site would know

My first thought is that it is probably not made of tooling leather. It's probably made of a garment leather of some sort.

I would pass on it. Remember it is your reputation on the line!

David.... you are not going to be able to do any tooling on the jacket. I beleive the jacket to be of chrom tan leather..... not toolable. If he wants some toolong you would have to tool the veg tan then sew it on the jacket.
