I would like to know what thickness of leather is use for what?

1-2 oz : cloathing?

3-4 oz : mask?

5-6 oz : ?

7-8 oz : decorative accessory (bottle holder, purse)

9-10 oz: holster, knife sheathes

11-12 oz:?

13-18 oz: saddle, armor, shoe sole

5-6oz and 6-7oz can be used for bags, purses, notebooks and the like.

Stohlman's book on belts recommends 8-9oz for men's belts and 6-7 oz for curved female belts. Hope this helps.
