Eyeglass Case

[Storm]

This is the piece on which the case for my Super Shears is based. Only I dyed the backgraound an laced it up.It has a deerskine suede lining to protect the glasses. The only problem is the black is that new EcoFlow California safe dye. It may require another coat or two.  Guess I am going to have to drive to Las Vegas or something and smuggle the good stuff back across the boarder.

SHARPIES DID SOMEONE SAY SHARPIES yes they do i use them all the time just make sure you keep new ones on hand cuz the back grounding will chew up the tips pretty fast but yes they work and u can use any color you want

I use sharpies,too. The only problem is trying to get into really tight spots.

Thanx guys!  I will test it out later. I hate having to drive out of state to get something I need. Nothing like a field expedient! LOL!

Cowboy316 is correct - The backgrounder will chew the sharpie up, but you can usually get a good run from one. Also for tight areas get a fine tip sharpie and that works great.

What kind of lace did you use? I like the way it looks.

Well I wonder if Tandy still sells it but it is very much like their:

Tejas Florentine Lace - Natural Color - 3/16 x 25 yards -#55006 - $29.99 or Warehouse at $24.00 per spool.

The holes can be punched using a Craftool Four In One(3/32" holes) But best to experiment and probaly bring in the hole spacing a shade tighter. For a big project I have used the lace and done a Double Cordavan and it works real well also.

I really like the look of a regular whipstitch when it is tight like this.

Black backgrounding is nice too. I prefer to do my backgrounding with a big brush and really small one to get into tight places.

A shot of whisky helps me to keep my hands steady when I work in tight places (yeah it really does but remember one or two shots, 3 and 4 makes ruin;-)
