leatheroo Report post Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) i was wondering if anyone knows the laws in regard to sending leather products overseas. i have sent some masks to customers in the US and never thought whether or not i should be doing it. i marked on the package party mask. I dont know what you guys are paying for lacing but i am paying about 60cents for 3mm roo in a 100 metre roll, if anyone is interested in me sending you some i could send it for cost plus shipping (payment would have to be by paypal) Edited March 22, 2008 by leatheroo
Beaverslayer Report post Posted March 22, 2008 Here in Canada there isn't the same regulations such as they have in California. I would always check first though before shipping anything overseas. The 4.7mm natural, and the 6mm natural, what are the prices of it? And is an Australian dollar the same as a Canadian dollar? I ask because it is getting hard to find roo hides here in Canada. Myriam Report post Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) Did a quick search on this. Found this post about the US and Australia (it has links to the appropriate websites for each): http://fallen-leaves.net/index.php?name=PN...pic&t=16819 As for Canada, man, did I have a hard time finding something. Made my head spin It appears that only certain types of kangaroo are protected and requiring a permit so it would be needed to know first from what species the leather came from. You can find more info on this site (just do a search for kangaroo): http://www.cites.ec.gc.ca/eng/sct0/index_e.cfm Wish I had more money available right now, that sure sounds like a good price to me! leatheroo Report post Posted March 22, 2008 thanks myriam, the articles were very interesting...it sounds like i could get myself into an expensive pickle if i send the roo lacing overseas. Sorry beav...sounds like it might be a no goer.... i think the only way for you to get it would be to contact the supplier directly... www.leffler.com.au
