Members jana Posted August 23, 2009 Members Report Posted August 23, 2009 A while back I asked for some advice on making a new scabbard for the SCA Baronial great sword. Well I got it done and here are the results. Thank you for the answers that helped to make this project come together! Quote

Members MHolzer Posted August 25, 2009 Members Report Posted August 25, 2009 It looks really good! Now how did you go about making it Quote

Members jana Posted August 26, 2009 Author Members Report Posted August 26, 2009 (edited) Are you looking for the long version or the short? It is basically a baldrick, the actual scabbard is 18'' long and 1/2" thick with the welting, but the total length is 48" with the backing which was lined and sewn.Once the blade is in place, two Sam Brown buttons hold the grip/handle locked against the backing. A buckle and billet was used to allow for different people and body types to be able to carry it. I am sure that I am not using the right terms on some of this, but hopefully you can understand what I am explaining!! Edited August 26, 2009 by jana Quote
