King's X Report post Posted September 1, 2009 I happened to see a Tally Book project recently. As most of us do, I opened it and started studying it for future reference. I noticed that the maker had lined the inside with suede? It was a think piece and not heavy "looking." Now, I know that I have ready here that many makers line their projects with a small weight Veg-Tan leather. I was just wondering if anyone uses suede as a lining and why? Also, what do you use to line your projects? Thanks.

The Major Report post Posted September 1, 2009 I have used pigskin suede on many projects. I also will use veg tan goat that I use backwards so the "sueded" side is showing.

hidepounder Report post Posted September 2, 2009 I have used the lightweight pig skin in the past and really like it, however these days I am using a 2oz calf because it is so clean and I like to add finger carving to my interiors. Bobby
Somawas Report post Posted September 2, 2009 I've been using some lightweight cow suede to line my eyeglass cases. The eyeglass cases are from 3-4 oz and the sued is probably 2-3. Still a long way from heavy.
