So not a hobby

I have never done this as a hobby I just can't have a hobby if I do it, it has to be like the pros and I have to do it like a full time job.

Does any one else have this problem.

I now have a sewing machine and lots of tools doing ok right know.

Don't think it's a problem so much, but I have a tendency to turn hobbies into businesses. It just seems to happen, due to the tax issues. But, if you keep making a profit, Uncle Samski is gonna come looking for his cut sooner or later.

I am unfortunately opposite of you. I have to make this a hobby because as long as I am having fun in a hobby atomsphere, I am okay. The moment it becomes "work" or full time job, I start to lose interest quickly and then I end up hearing from the boss why I haven't touched my tools, blah,

I am so glad to hear that you are doing well. If you bought a machine then things are picking up for you. I am still stick doing things by hand and that is okay with me. I am waiting for my new rub sticks to easy the pain from using my Tandy slicker.

Hey, I did want to inform you if you saw the ad in the latest Leather Crafter's & Saddlers Journal? I know that you were looking at producing stitching horses? There is an ad for someone wanting to talk to a person that makes them. The person's name is Terry...215-288-2115.....Give him a call and see if you can get some work?

I have a uhmmmm, compulsive personality and therefore I have to have all the tools possible and read endlessly about history and facts on a topic. I have to agree that I can onnly have this as a hobby. I was getting real resentful and F-this when I had all those Kilt belts to make.

So I finally have a title to describe what I suffer from, good, thanks TTCustom. I started doing some contractor work, but I am trying to keep it really low profile and not over burden me since I also have a full time job. A sewing machine would be nice, but my $$ is going into the I want to attend the boot show in October fund. I guess my next leg will be the I want to go to Wickenburg fund?

I am getting their and I hope to get closer at the boot show. I am saving my pennies. I can see it now, I may have to move out to the patio upon my return when the better half get the CC statement. Oh well, after 25 years, she can throw me out as long as I have my tools, stone, bearman maul and leather, I am good. Hell, Stohlman started out of a chicken coup. I can at the very least find a construction port-o-pottie for the meantime.
