Members TTcustom Posted September 11, 2009 Members Report Posted September 11, 2009 I just got from the UPS driver my checkering files. Ooh the mind boggles at the possibilities! I can't wait to make my first monster crosshatched beveler. If anyone is interested I found them cheaper at Midway USA than Brownells. Quote
BearMan Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) Hi,,, Thanks for the info,,, But,,, will they stand up to use on 304 Stainless?? P.S. How many lines per inch did you get?? Ed the"BearMan" Edited September 12, 2009 by BearMan Quote
gtwister09 Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Ed, Grobert files are supposed to be good swiss made files. The ones I have seen are chrome steel alloy that is tempered and hardened. They are generally very good files. However I have not used them specifically on stainless. Here's a link that I have for Grobert USA. Grobert Swiss Files Regards, Ben Quote

I got the 50 and the 30 lines per inch... Somewhere out there is an old gunsmiths stash of 60 lpi files that I will find one day. Edited September 13, 2009 by TTcustom Quote
