I can't wait to make my first monster crosshatched beveler. If anyone is interested I found them cheaper at Midway USA than Brownells. The ones I have seen are chrome steel alloy that is tempered and hardened. They are generally very good files. However I have not used them specifically on stainless. I carded them regularly to make sure they didn't load up. I got the 50 and the 30 lines per inch... Somewhere out there is an old gunsmiths stash of 60 lpi files that I will find one day.
