TimKleffner Report post Posted September 22, 2009 Ricky Nice work. I like the overall look of the seat. WHEN you do ride your motor with that attached, it'll still look good from the back of the police cruiser that stopped you. ANDDDDDDDDD ... YOUR motor will go to the pound. [it's called a prohibited weapon in ALL 50 states] I sure do like the seat ! Nice work. Happy tooling Tim
rickeyfro Report post Posted September 22, 2009 Thing is they are sold everywhere, online, army surplus store, etc etc etc. Im gonna have to to some research on the legalities
rickeyfro Report post Posted September 22, 2009 And what about this would it be considered illegal also? Im just asking outta curiosity really, not like Im gonna mass produce these or anything, but I wouldnt wanna get in any trouble just selling a motorcycle seat. I know theres alot of law enforcment, both active and retired on this forum, anyone wanna shed some light on this please do. I actually bought these online from a sight that sells nothing but these in numerouse styles. Im figuring they arent concealed, I do know they are illegal in Ca,Mass,Mich,Ill & N.Y from what I can google
TimKleffner Report post Posted September 22, 2009 Ricky I have seen brass knuckles in display cases listed as paper weights and I personally know knife dealers who deal in switch blades. Both can be owned and kept as collectors items, but when you carry them out and/ or display them out on the street, they're legitimacy changes. Again , nice work on the seat. Happy tooling Tim

AgronZoti Report post Posted September 22, 2009 (edited) If you just like the look of the "weapon" and would like to use it, I think that, if you render it unuseable - like if you attach it permanently to the seat. Then its just decoration rather then a weapon. Even in Denmark that might fly and we have insane weapon laws here. people go to jail here for forgeting a boxcutter in thier car.
