Members Windom Leather Posted September 30, 2009 Members Report Posted September 30, 2009 Hi David, If you are going to just make a simple pair and not back it with anything then 8/9 will be heavy enough. When I first started I made a pair for my wife and she wears them almost daily and has held up well. If you are wanting to make a higher end pair then I would probably use 6/7 backed with some 4/5 or just 4/5 doubled. Hope this helps. hidepounder Posted September 30, 2009 Report Posted September 30, 2009 David, I use 7/8 oz leather and line it with 2/3 oz. Like Will said, however, 8/9 is adequate. Bobby Quote
