druid Report post Posted October 17, 2009 Newguy! LOL. I just wanted to make a formal intro thread. There really won't be much more than what I added to my profile but... Name's Paul and I found this forum quite by accident. I was looking around for resources other than Tandy and stubled in here. I'm 39, married and father to 3 daughters 20. 13 and 10. I live in the Lehigh Valley, PA area and work for the Dept of Corrections. Some of my hobbies include hunting, family tent camping, hiking, playing paintball with the 13yr old and I'm a retired Grade II Bagpipe Band competitor. I'm Pipe Sgt of the City of Bethlehem Pipes and Drums, a street band that performs in local parades and events. My generation is 2nd US citizen, my grandparents [both sides] immigrants from England, Scotland and Germany. The Family Tartan in my avatar is Modern Young. I make Kilts from freaky materials, some of which I'll probably end up posting somewhere...lol. My leatherworking skills are mediocre at best, only serving utilitarian purposes...lol. That started out as a necessity really...while at the hunting cabin, my uncle somehow managed to destroy his knife sheath. We took a ride into town and found a leather tool belt pouch...and me having my "speedy stitcher" at the cabin, was able to manage a very doable sheath for him. I've made some other small things...a few holsters, sporrans [scottish pouch in front of the Kilt] and the like. Anyway...long-winded and excited to learn something here. I probably won't post much at first...because I'll be reading around the site some.

barra Report post Posted October 18, 2009 G'DAY Druid. Welcome to LW. Sit back and enjoy the posts. Feel free to jump in anytime. I have been involved with leather for 30 years but have still managed to learn new tricks off people who have been involved 30 days.
