Rifle Sling Lining

What is the most commonly used material for lining a rifle sling? Suede splits?

Thats what I have used on mine. Not sure if its the best thing to use but I have not had any complaints. Ofcourse I have sold most of the slings on ebay when I got a chance to make one so you usually dont get any good feedback later on down the road.

So far I have only lined the portion that is padded that goes over the shoulder. I use 1/8" neoprene covered in the suede. Works pretty good.
