Vikti Report post Posted January 2, 2010 I tried to rework a belt for my father in law for x-mas. I cut it out, dyed & buffed it out to a nice shine but I noticed about half way through putting some decorative stitching on it that the white thread was picking up the dye. TimKleffner Report post Posted January 2, 2010 After you oiled and dyed, did you put a finish coat on before you sewed? Black dye , especially, has lots of excess pigments.
