Big Busse Sheath

Was ask if I could make a sheath for a BIG knife... the knife is a beautiful Busse design and waranted some heavy leather... here is what I come up with... still learning but making progress..

I really needed the cutout on this one.. the blade was so long if I did a traditional enclosed sheath you could not draw the knife if mounted on your belt... it would put the handle in your arm pit by time it cleared the sheath.. at least this way it is only a four inch draw and then straight forward... and as you said... it looks cool when you see that polished stainless steel...

Thanks for the comments... need to figure out the tooling side of things pretty quick... request are coming in and I have been turning them away... not good for business...

I thought the cutout was for visual effect... I didn't think about the practical side. Nice job! I love it!

Thanks for the comments... the owner loved it... could not stop smiling when he got it..

and I finally got a makers mark to start tagging my work properly... no more scribbling with a stylus on the back..

Man thats what I like about custom work! Killer design. Seeing this gives me an addition to the design like you have. Appreciate the view. Ill break out the pencil and paper now!

SWEET knife too! Are the scales round filed to that design?
