kk1992 Report post Posted February 20, 2010 about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago i ordered needles, artificial sinew, and a 6-8 foot vegetable belly from leather unlimited. i callled them 3 days ago and they said the belly was on 4-6 month back order and that they would send my needles and sinew so that the would be there the next day, it is 3 days later, still no shipment in. do not work with this company, their customer service leaves sooo much to be diesired, i will be posting a complaint with the better buisness beureu. just a warning to all those looking for a cheaper scource of leather, the prices are literally too good to be true. Leather unlimited has never done wrong by me. I've ordered by phone, and have gone there in person, and never had any trouble. I stopped ordering leatherworking supplies over the internet when at all possible. You almost always get better service when you talk to people on the phone, or go to their business. Go to www.brettunsvillage.com.I had the same problem with leather unlimited years ago,they didnt even call to say that they had them on backorder.Just left me hanging.The one nice thing about brettuns is that he will walk back into the warehouse with you on the ohone and lay hands on the item that you want.No guessing as to whether he has it.Another supplier is KLC leather.They have a good variety of hides and while they do charge for shipping they are fast and the quality has been good to excellent. Placed an order Jan. 10th didn't recieve anything by Feb. 15th, emailed and they had stuff on B/O with NO ETA but shipped (& billed) a partial, supposedly on Feb. 16th. It is now Feb. 28th & I have not recieved ANYTHING! They do a very, VERY bad job of acknowledging, processing, communicating and shipping.
