Candace bought me a wood lathe for Christmas and I've been tryin to wear it out buy building tool handles and stamp mauls. I am not offering them for sale, just makin a few for friends. Did you turn it on you lathe with the wood tools or did you sand it to shape on the lathe ? Nice job how ever ya did it. I like you tooling tools to. Elton Joorisity Report post Posted February 23, 2010 John, yeah it's a traditional leather washer handle and I used normal wood lathe tools to shape it then sanded it right down to 600 grit and burnished it just like the edges on veg tan.
