I've got this project going and I have tried the line 24 snaps from the "Leather Factory" and McMaster Carr but they seem to hard to open for what I'm working on. It was used and still is around the world by button makers. It refers to the diameter of the button not the srength of the socket. There is a site called http://www.smartcart.com/scovill/catalog/ and here you will find what you want. The socket is called easy action. Not normal or tight.
