First time I hear about string sticks. What are they used for?

They are used to tighten saddle strings when you bleed the knots in. Some guys swear by them and some just plain don't

Thanks, Elton. It does bring up another question. What does "bleed the knots in" mean?

The slit style braid on saddle strings is commonly known as bleeding or a bleed knot
