Members darkelf Posted April 20, 2010 Members Report Posted April 20, 2010 Greetings all, Im new to the forums and have been lurking about for a few days. I'm about ready to try my hand at an IWB holster for a Colt Commander. I have some of the basic tools needed and I was wondering if Springfield Leather sells smaller pieces of leather, rather than buying half a cow? I guess I could call them, just thought I would give this a shot first and say "Hi" in the process. Any advise would be appreciated. Quote
Denster Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Hi! Yes they will cut leather for you. Quote
MADMAX22 Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Try and get a single or double shoulder from them. I am pretty sure they sell them. That is what I would start off with if all your doing is holsters since you can use most if not all of the shoulders for holsters. Quote
Contributing Member TwinOaks Posted April 21, 2010 Contributing Member Report Posted April 21, 2010 Hi and welcome to Leatherworker.net. We're glad you found our little corner of the internet. To your question: Call Springfield Leather and tell them what you want. They have advertised that they cut leather ( so you don't have to purchase a whole side) and speaking with a person is the best way to ensure you get what you need. Quote
Members mgoldschmidt Posted April 25, 2010 Members Report Posted April 25, 2010 I went to Springfield Leather today for the first time. I noticed the ad banner on this forum and went to the website to order a catalog. That's when I noticed it was Springfield Missouri. I live about 60 miles away, so me and the wife took a road trip. All I can say is WOW! The people there were very helpful & polite. I joined the Gold Advantage (A $30 discount membership) and saved over $33 just this trip. I can't wait until the next trip. I was just in the need to upgrade my tool selection and didn't really get to check out the HUGE selection of leather. Definately give them a call though. Mark from Cassville Quote

Mark from Cassville At first I thought "Man, I wish I lived that close". Then I thought "Man, I'm glad I don't live that close to them. I'd be even more broke!" Quote
Members Hicks02 Posted April 27, 2010 Members Report Posted April 27, 2010 The people alone are worth meeting. I too live about 60 miles away. I go to springfield about once a month. Kevin has a great deal of know how about leather. And if you need something just ask, chances are they have it or can get it. Again the customer service is about the best in Sprinfield. Good luck, Jeremiah Quote
