Members goot Posted May 16, 2010 Members Report Posted May 16, 2010 G'day all, I've had an interest in learning leather....craft(?) for years, and would love to one learn to make molded leather corsets and chest plates. I've also got an interest in heavy draft horses (I just had to give my two big fellas away cos i moved to the desert), so would like to be able to make harness and all that stuff. So it seems its about time to start doing something more than daydreaming, im obviously ready to move to the procrastination stage of my journey, so here i am, on the internet. Starting something always seems to be the dauntingest part of learning, so thats what im after, starter tools, simple project ideas, "friends", yada yada. "Expand my brain learning juice!" Members CitizenKate Posted May 16, 2010 Members Report Posted May 16, 2010 Welcome to Leatherworker.net, goot! Every good project starts with a bit of daydreaming, so it sounds like you have mastered the first step. Probably any information that's available here on the subject of wet molding leather will give you some general methods for creating your project. Aside from that, we have some people here who make armor and leather corsets, who may have already shared some very specific information about making molded leather garments. So if you haven't already, I would suggest searching our vast collection of existing posts and see what's there already. You are welcome to post any questions you may have in an appropriate category; we have lots of people here willing to share what they know and answer your questions. Glad you've joined us, and we look forward to seeing what you come up with. Kate Quote
