There are also a couple of very good tanneries, according to some sources. In the past there have also been reports of poor leather quality, apparently related to questionable tanning processes (including the use of animal urine). It appears that you have found a very nice example of craftsmanship at a bargain price. I hope that it will serve you well for many years.
