xaman Report post Posted July 26, 2010 I need to put a new buckle on an old belt without removing the stitching. I can cut the old buckle off, if there was a threaded buckle to replace it with (like the small ones you see for watch straps). Has anyone seen something like this? I need a 1.5" buckle at least, so fairly large... THANKS.

No idea, but Diomedes Industries makes a threaded rectangular ring, so in theory you could see if they would make you some with a tongue (just a bent piece of metal wrapped around the threaded bar, so you could do that yourself, even)
TXAG Report post Posted August 21, 2014 I know this is an old thread, but I need one of these buckles also...I'd rather buy one ready-made instead of having to fabricate something that may or may not work well. Any sources for buckles like this would be welcome...except OTB...pretty sure they don't have them anyway though last time I looked at their catalog. Please don't tell me to go check different places...I've already checked all the regular vendors...that's why I'm asking if someone for sure has a source for these. Thanks... a2jacketpatches Report post Posted August 21, 2014 I find a lot of unusual items out at the local flea market. There's an unbelieveable amount of used clothing and belts are abundant. No matter what odd type of thing I need, I can usually find something to solve the problem there. Have any measurements or details on hand when searching. Last week I fabricated a custom made easel for airbrushing out of a spare tire rack where the set up and measurements were perfect. This easal holds the items to be sprayed in place with large very strong magnets, also found at the flea market. The result is a hassle free custom built unit that suits my need flawlessly. One of the thousands of belt buckles at your local swap meet is sure to fit the purpose. And you will most likely find a very unique item that is not widely available run of the mill like you have seen already.
TXAG Report post Posted August 21, 2014 I'm not going to waste time searching through countless flea market bays trying to find this buckle. That could take years and I just don't have the luxury of countless hours of free time to do that. If I have to, I'll end up making my own. Would prefer to buy one...I am sure I've seen these buckles around in the past, so someone has to sell them somewhere.
