Members Box Alarm Leather Posted August 14, 2010 Members Report Posted August 14, 2010 I am trying to find a brass acorn capped barrell nut, like the attached picture. Also, I don't have a picture, but I am looking for a piece of attachment hardware that has a brass cap and for lack of a better term, two "stalks" that come down from the cap, go through the leather, and then spread apart holding it into place. Any help would be appreciated. Quote

Tandy sells them, although they don't show the prongs in the picture: http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/home/department/Hardware/Spots-Spikes/1330-061.aspx?feature=Product_1 Quote
Ann McGrath Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I wonder if the "attachment hardware" with "two stalks" might just be split rivets. This link is to a Google image of split rivets: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.machinistchest.com/site/images/big/BrassRivets.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.machinistchest.com/site/product_details.php%3Fitem_id%3D13&h=243&w=300&sz=21&tbnid=NQyoehoNHdObqM:&tbnh=94&tbnw=116&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsplit%2Brivets&zoom=1&q=split+rivets&hl=en&usg=__B8VETy_DVh9VQ0axtTKnNrIGXJc=&sa=X&ei=s82PTKKeA8L78AbOprzTDQ&ved=0CEgQ9QEwBg Quote

Members BIGGUNDOCTOR Posted September 15, 2010 Members Report Posted September 15, 2010 Here is an option for the above nuts. You can readily find brass acorn nuts, so find a brass tube the correct size, and just cut spacers out of that. If you wanted to, you could even solder them together. You didn't mention how many you needed, or what size thread they have. Quote
