UKRay Report post Posted September 1, 2010 Can any one help me find a good quality kangaroo leather (for whip making and braiding work) tannery / supplier in or around Perth, Western Australia? I'm also looking for veg tan leather suitable for tooling, also in the Perth area? Any help gratefully received. Best wishes and thanks, Ray

UKRay Report post Posted September 1, 2010 Not me, Tony. My son now lives in Perth and has promised to send me some roo skins if I can find a source! LOL The veg tan is so he can make some stuff for himself. He tells me it is a great place to live though... Ray

I know he gets his skirting from Toowoomba over in Qland. Tony.

cem Report post Posted September 2, 2010 Ray there are no kangaroo tanneries in Perth, I wish there was all our skins from government shoots are sent over east for tanning I've used Packer lace but I didn't buy it from them it was excellent quality but I don't use alot. The best place to buy veg tan leather in Perth is http://www.leatherdirect.com.au/ your son will soon find out there aren't alot of suppliers but if he wants to see the leather in person Leather Direct is his best bet. Is he a northy or southy, Leather Direct is in Northy country, boundary is classed as north or south of the swan river at the Narrows bridge. Let me know if you need to find out anything else.
