Hicks02 Report post Posted September 10, 2010 This is a sixgun rig that I made for a guy to fit a 4 3/4" colt 45. The belt is double thickness 6/7 oz HO. The holster is 6/7 oz and lined with 7/8 oz. The outside should have been 7/8 but oh well. I designed this style of holster to be a little quicker on the draw, not sure if it made a differnce or not. The color is febings oil dye in light brown,I also added a little black around the stamping to give it an antiqued look. The border stamps are a Barry King and an old homemade stamp. The photos are not the best due operator error. Thanks for looking and let me know what you all think. Critiques are welcome also, I am always trying to get better. dirtclod Report post Posted September 10, 2010 Nice job !! Personally i would rather have more coverage on the pistol. But you need to make the customer wants. I bet they really like it.

Hicks02 Report post Posted September 10, 2010 Thanks guys. The holster is cut low in from, and could use more coverage. I did wet mold around the cylinder, and as of now the pistol don't move much. I also put a hammer tie down on it. The customer is around 80, I am not sure but I think he wanted something for looks more than using. That doesn't mean I took any short cuts when I made the rig. Thanks again for looking and the kind words.

JackRabbit Report post Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) Neat work , what else I can say . If You demand something to criticize , the loop over the holster , in lower stampings ... are the lines different or is it my screen ? If You demand something to criticize , the loop over the holster , in lower stampings ... are the lines different or is it my screen ? JR I am not sure. The stamps are the same. I am not much of a carver and the bead lines could be better. On the loop I took off the stitch line measurement. Thank you all for the comments I feel blessed to have this resource here to learn from. Jeremiah

Hicks02 Report post Posted September 12, 2010 Ya done good....at first glance I said to myself......self, this is for a fast-draw dude.....I was right! Good work! Thanks. I made it to be quicker, but I couldn't try it out. I am a bit smaller around than the man it's made for.
