bubbajdv Report post Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Help! I just purchased a Sutton 296A mackay chain stitch and I can't get it to stitch! Does anyone here have an operator's manual or Service manual I could get a copy of? I think the Cast off is bent or mis adjusted , the needle will pick up the loop of thread then it will drop that loop and jam up with the next loop that it picks up. Any help is greatly appreciated! raysshoe Report post Posted December 7, 2010 (edited) Just found your post on google. Hoping you can help me. I have the same problem on my 296a, But the needle cover looks to be straight. I have the original "Operating instructions and parts list" book for the machine. Is there another one that has more information? If you have the same book that I do, I'm assuming that the needle cover is part 233 Table 2 pg 9 of the book. What is the correct placement of that cover? Well, I finally got the machine to stitch!
