Ambassador Luke Hatley Posted September 28, 2010 Ambassador Report Posted September 28, 2010 (edited) Henrik.....Nice looking rig you have there,,,, Iffi'n you want to age the brass buckle , what i do is to remove the clear coating on the buckle, then wipe the brass with moist Black Powder after you have been shooting the gun. Members Casey Jordan Posted September 28, 2010 Members Report Posted September 28, 2010 To antique brass I found some brass antique at a woodworking supply store. Very simple to use. Hope this helps. Quote
Members fishguy Posted September 28, 2010 Members Report Posted September 28, 2010 http://www.whitechapel-ltd.com/ganti.html describes ammonia fuming Quote
Members connorferster Posted September 30, 2010 Members Report Posted September 30, 2010 I agree with Luke. Unfortunately (in my opinion), most hardware manufacturers lacquer brass hardware to PREVENT them from tarnishing. You have to use a sand-paper or steel wool to remove the clear lacquer coat, first. Following that the above ammonia method will work wonders. Good luck! Quote
