Jbarv Bulls Report post Posted October 5, 2010 I have a 16 plait aussie whip built by Mike Murphey that has lost the fall and broken 2 or 3 of the stands of the body where it tapers to tie in the fall. Im looking for someone here in the states to repair it. Im too cheap to ship it back to Mike in Oz lol . Its a backup show whip that got abused during muddy performances so the repair doesnt need to be perfect, just functional. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe
CitizenKate Report post Posted October 5, 2010 Hi Joe, Here's a couple of whip makers listed in the Directory that are in the US: http://leatherworker.net/pmd/david-morgan-signal-whips.html http://leatherworker.net/pmd/Otis-Leather-Company.html Kate
Jbarv Bulls Report post Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks Kate, I kinda hate to bother people who dont advertise repairs. I know guys who will make anything Id like, but refuse to repair anything. So I thought Id throw it and see if anyone would want to hire out.
CitizenKate Report post Posted October 5, 2010 That's okay, Joe. Just threw that out in case you hadn't looked there before. Kate
rcsaddles Report post Posted October 5, 2010 Paul Nolan of Mid West Whips is not a member here but builds very nice whips. He has helped me with repairs more than once and is very easy to work with. www.midwestwhips.com I am trying to talk him into getting on here and to do an article or two for the LCSJ. He probably has made 5000 whips in teh past few years.
