JustWakinUp Report post Posted May 2, 2008 hey guys, I had a friend make me a small seat pan, it's only 8"x11". I wanted to use this as a learning piece instead of starting out on my giant seat thats on my honda. I've glued the closed cell foam down to the seat pan and shaved it like i want it. Here's my problem. What is the best way to get the top of the seat traced out for the leather. I have some posterboard that I layed on top but everytime i trace it and cut it , it just isn't working. Maybe some of you guys can give me the magic tip to get the shape right for the top of the seat. Thanks. *Think I'll go golfing now, tad frustrated at this point... Be back in about 4 hours. hahah thanks for the help

Pull the tape off carefully so that it stays together and comes off in one piece. Some times I put on two layers of tape to make sure it doesn't stretch; then add 3/8" all the way around for my lacing area.....same thing for the back. You can practice your construction method on the cheap. David Genadek
