Members KnotHead Posted January 2, 2011 Author Members Report Posted January 2, 2011 Okay so share your technique instead of sitting behind a closed door. If the technique you say is just a simple round braid flattened out, then maybe you should share how you are achieving the block in the braid. You say you are not using a core to make this braid as square looking as it is in your photos. But when I do this braid, the braid wants to take on the natural form in which it is intended, (ROUND). Yes I know that the braid in my photo is not perfect. But it is also the first time I have attempted your type of technique. I'd say that I'm getting pretty damn close. But as with any other braid, it will require some more time and practice to achieve the proper tension for this technique. B... Quote Best Regards, Brian Kidd
Members bergjes Posted January 2, 2011 Members Report Posted January 2, 2011 (edited) Hi Miguel, I have to agree with Brian here. Please share your technique how your braids are made. I'm not a really experienced braider, but a round braid without a core I can manage. But the result is the same as Brian. How do you get that really square result on the edges? Hope you can help us with a little help, perhaps a tutorial? Thanks, Erik Edited January 2, 2011 by bergjes Quote

Members roo4u Posted January 3, 2011 Members Report Posted January 3, 2011 its looking good! just from looking at that type of braid i would say the key is keeping your braid absolutely straight so that it flattens correctly. Quote TRACY MONSTER FARM SPECIALTIES-custom tack for dog, horse and human
Members KnotHead Posted January 3, 2011 Author Members Report Posted January 3, 2011 There are a couple of key things to concentrate on with this technique. The tightness of the braid and as you say keeping the braid straight. So far I have only been using my fingers to keep it flat like you see in the photo. I think it works really well. Brian... Members miguelm Posted January 3, 2011 Members Report Posted January 3, 2011 I said under 2, over 2, under 2 for the 12 strands. But in the photography is the 10, and another of 16 strands. you are not doing my technique. But also is a braid for beginners. You should learn some of my knot. you Can see in facebook and in my blog to nose button in turk head by example. http://www.secretosdelcuero.blogspot.com Quote
Members KnotHead Posted January 3, 2011 Author Members Report Posted January 3, 2011 Bull shit there's 10. I know there's 12 there. I can count dude. And in your photo you are showing OVER 2, UNDER 2, OVER 2. If anyone else would care to take a look at this one. I think a 16 strand The one in this photo is not a 12 strand. But follows the same damn sequence as I mention. Ya know Miguel. I have tried my hardest to be nice to you. I have complimented your work and posted so others can see your work. But with the comment left behind in your last post, leaves me with a really bad taste in my mouth. I am pretty sure that here on leatherworker.net that Johanna would agree that we all try to be colleagues here and not throw comments out like you have in you last post. But that's fine. You want to act like a pompous ass, that's fine too. I leave the floor to whoever now. Brian... Quote Best Regards, Brian Kidd
