Members Shooter McGavin Posted January 16, 2011 Members Report Posted January 16, 2011 Building my first ever IWB holster and looking for some input on what to use over the dye. The dye in question is actually Fiebings Mahogany Stain. I have used in the past on my OWB holsters Satin Sheen, Super Sheen, And Saddle Lac. Would one of those work well enough on IWB or is there something better for this application. Thank you for any advice! Dan Quote Zlogonje Gunleathers
Members Dwight Posted January 16, 2011 Members Report Posted January 16, 2011 Most of my holster business is IWB's and I pretty much use Resolene exclusively. I have never taken my holster off and found it soaked with perspiration or even damp. It protects my weapon, . . . protects the leather, . . . and makes for a good looking product. 50/50 mix with water, . . . brushed on with a cheap, 1" bristle brush. Works great. May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. If you can read, . . . thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, . . . thank a veteran. www.dwightsgunleather.com
Members marine mp Posted January 17, 2011 Members Report Posted January 17, 2011 Ditto....on what Dwight said, 'cept I would put a final finish of Kiwi Neutral on it as it takes away the slight "tackyness" that I find so often with Resolene.
