Glock21 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) While cruising the swap meet today I came upon a box of random stuff. I was looking for Wing dividers but in the bottom of the box was some stamps. 27 to be exact 24 marked Craftool usa and 2 marked RBS and 1 cant quite make out Here is the list Craftool Co USA 710 8050 1584 850 J787 59 S343(or 8343) 100 V407 L516 F916 888 709 F990 s630 L515 R875 W531 209 406 705 D617 RBS RBS-407 RBS-226 I got all of them for 3 dollars. Then as I am paying the guy he says what are they for and I said leatherworking. I think I got a pretty sweat deal and being a new practicing LW its pretty cool. Some of them have a few spots of rust and the chrome is chipping off but they seem to be structurally ok. Jeff Jeff, The tools with chrome chipping off will cause you nothing but trouble, rusty ones are suspect but you may be able to clean them up. ferg
raysouth Report post Posted November 29, 2011 Hello Jeff, I also found a few stamps that had rust. I cleaned them with a brass wire brush and then put a light coat of "Kramers Best Restore" on them and have worked great. Small bottle a tad expensive but worth the price. I picked up this tip from an antique seller and he does wonders with the product. I purchased mine on net as not in local store in my area. Hope this helps. God Bless. BIGGUNDOCTOR Report post Posted November 30, 2011 Just knock the rest of the chrome off of the chipping ones. The chrome coming of will mess up the design.
