Members Tac Posted February 7, 2011 Members Report Posted February 7, 2011 thanks guys i appreciate the responses! and lobo as for the welted design, i've never really tried that on anything so i guess the key is to practice practice practice till i get good results huh? lol by the way tac, how did you get the texturing on that holster in your first pic? i've never seen that before RWP... that is Ostrich skin that I laminated to 7-8 oz. veg tan (rough side to rough side) with contact cement, then stitched up. The inside of the holster is smooth and the outside has the ostrich texture. The ostrich skin is very thin (2-3 oz if I had to guess) and came already tanned that color. I like it. My customer liked the holster so much, he came back for a double mag pouch and a light/baton case in the same format, in order to have a matching set. Good luck with your new gun and please post a picture of your choice in gun-hide... -Tac Quote -Tac "Well, I guess we did our good deed for the day Mayor"-Wyatt Earp "Tombstone"

Members TexasJack Posted February 9, 2011 Members Report Posted February 9, 2011 The Taurus 1911 is a very fine pistol and I think you'll be well pleased with it. Quote
Members Big O Posted February 9, 2011 Members Report Posted February 9, 2011 I bought a Taurus PT1911 as soon as they came out, while they were still offering the "teaser" prices.... I've put a couple thousand rounds through it so far, and the only problem I've had is that the slide stop sheared off on the inside at about the 500-round mark. I replaced it with a Wilson Combat one, and haven't had another problem since. Can't wait for them to make a Commander version. Quote https://www.facebook.com/BigOGunleather
