Need Help With Id And Finding A Tool

I saw John Bianchi use this tool in his DVD Western Holster Making. He called this tool a "flat boning tool" and later in the DVD mentioned that is was used by old saddle makers. He used the tool to close the holes made when stitching the leather; he rolled it over the stitch line. He also mentioned that is was a "roller" not just a flat smooth surface. I wanted to find one of these tools if anyone happens to know where I can get one please let me know. I have found some wooden large rollers that could be used however I would really like a tool just like this one.

I have a tool "very similar" to that and it is reffered to as a seam roller.

i got it at a store that sold wall paper supplies.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry about the picture I had to take it from the TV screen, couldn't find a better way to get it. I still can't figure out how to down size the pictures on here. Any idea exactly which supplier you found yours at all I have found are wooden.

Well I stand corrected. I called John Bianchi Frontier Gunleather and spoke to a maker; he said that those tools were specially made. He went on to say that the tool was actually not a roller but a polished piece of steel with an attached handle and that with most modern sewing machines it’s not needed. So I guess any flat polished surface would work for the same purpose.

Glat that you talked to B G L. i thought about making my self one of those but i decided

i could do the same with useing a SMOOTH FACE COBLERS HAMMER.

If you'd like to make one yourself, go to the local tool store and buy a wide wood chisel - run it through your grinder to round the end, sand or file it smooth, then polish it. I debated making one too, as my Boss leaves tracks on the backside of my holsters, though I'm usually able to smooth them out with my bone folder.
