Members jerry m Posted February 14, 2011 Members Report Posted February 14, 2011 I just got a new softball mit and it is really stiff. What do i use to soften it up to make it easier to open and close???? Quote
dirtclod Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 You can try Aussie Leather Conditioner i belive is the name it's in a yellow can, Neetsfoor Oil, Blackrock, Lexol, Picards Olive Oil and Skidmors all of the are conditioners. One important thing don't over do any of them or you may get to soft. Put a little on at a time and wait for it to dry and see if you need more. Quote
Members HellfireJack Posted February 15, 2011 Members Report Posted February 15, 2011 They make mit conditioning oils but anything lanolin based is fine. That and some heat from the sun. I would Google "conditioning a baseball mit" and learn how to properly form the pocket and soften it. Quote
