Forkbeard Report post Posted February 15, 2011 Here are my choices as I see them. I have about 1400 to spend, no more. The Boss-I have a freind who swears by his and loves the hell out of it. I am not a fan in lew of... The Luberto Cub I found for sale, it looks brand new but I think they are out of buisness. Then I started looking harder and found out Ferdco is selling the 440R for 1300 with a table and servo motor. New. There are a couple things on ebay: Consew 227 Singer 29-4 Techsew GA5-1R Consew382 post machine If someone could give me a little guidance here, I would surly apreciate it. Thank you. Wizcrafts Report post Posted February 15, 2011 If you are prepared to spend $1400 on a machine, you can get a Cowboy CB2500, bottom feed flat foot cylinder arm machine (same as Ferdoco 440R), with reverse, for a lot less than that. You could add the accessory foot and roller guide package and probably still be under $1400. They are sold by Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines. Their phone number is 866-362-7397. Several of our members have this machine and love it. It is just one step down from the big harness stitchers and is capable of sewing about 1/2" of dense leather. I tried to find the info on the cb 3500 you mentioned earlier and couldn't find anything. I'll call them tomorrw. Thanks man. FB

Art Report post Posted February 15, 2011 Hi FB, I though you said you had to be able to sew 3/4 inch veg tan. If so, the only things in your list that will do that are the Cub and the Boss. Ferdco has a 1010 on their list for $1500 that might work and a No.9 would also work. They might have a 6/6 on the swap board also. The CB 2500 will NOT sew 3/4 inch. Shane in Baton Rouge Report post Posted February 17, 2011 Wiz, I have to say, you are one of the most patient forum members I have ever come across. Us lurkers sure appreciate the time you spend to author informative posts about what I have learned is a very unexpectedly complicated topic. There is no info on the CB2500 or CB3500 machines that you so frequently recommend. Is this actually two different machines, or a typo? Thanks, Shane

Otherwise, I can say nothing more on this open forum.
Reegesc Report post Posted February 7, 2017 I'll second that! I think the same thing every time I read one of his posts. It's not easy being patient and polite when you're an expert in something, fielding the same dumbo questions over and over. But Wiz does it with class.
