Members Gamekeeper Posted February 20, 2011 Members Report Posted February 20, 2011 Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone runs a Seiko TH series machine? I have a problem with mine at the moment - it's stripping the top thread!! This has only started since I tried some proper leather needles, unfortunately they were too small & I ended up reverting back to my original needles, now it's stripping all the time. So far, I have checked needle bar setting, & also noticed that the shuttle hook is catching the thread half way through it if that makes sense (this is causing the stripping). I have adjusted the bobbin carrier right up to the max so that it just passes the needle. Now I'm stumped. Anyone got nay ideas? Dave P.S. Unfortunately I don't have a manual for it. Members Gamekeeper Posted March 5, 2011 Author Members Report Posted March 5, 2011 Still stuck on this folks. The sewing machine repair man let me down - never even turned up!!! Tried needle bar height again & also polished bobbin hook but all with no luck at all. The thread is now constantly being 'cut' as it goes through the leather. Anyone help with this? CowboyBob Posted March 6, 2011 Report Posted March 6, 2011 When you time the hook do you have the needlebar go up 3/32"before the point of the hook is at the needle? Quote Bob Kovar Toledo Industrial Sewing Machine Sales Ltd. 3631 Marine Rd Toledo,Ohio 43609 1-866-362-7397
