Members LeatherCaptain Posted March 10, 2011 Members Report Posted March 10, 2011 Hi, pardon my ignorance if this has come up lately but, could someone tell me where there is a good place to buy the neoprenish material to make an ankle holster? I never make ankle rigs but I've traded some work with a local handyman and his wife wants an ankle rig. So, I guess that's what I'm going to do. He gave me a Galco to use as an example but I'm not sure where to buy the stretch material. I've looked at CVS, etc. for knee braces and the like but haven't found anything that will work. Any help is much obliged! Quote

Well, I am looking for the stretchy, elastic like material but it's sort of thick and reminds me of wet suite material or something like a knee brace. Quote
Members Randy Cornelius Posted March 10, 2011 Members Report Posted March 10, 2011 (edited) When I started making ankle holsters I too made them out of the neopreme materail, I found a suppier on the web. What I found is that the neopreme materail wore out quickly. I went to using chap leather, I found that it conforms to the ankle just as good as the neopreme and lasts a lot longer. I have a pattern posted somewhere here. I will look and see if I can find it. Randy Here is the link http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=16233 Here is a source for the neopreme I would suggest the 3mm or thicker. http://www.seattlefabrics.com/neoprene.html?gclid=CLTm5LbNw6cCFYjt7QodBXpWEQ#Neoprene Edited March 10, 2011 by Randy Cornelius Quote
