Members Glock21 Posted March 15, 2011 Members Report Posted March 15, 2011 I use the mix for molding too. What is the advantage of using "the mix" over using just plain old water? Quote

Moderator bruce johnson Posted March 15, 2011 Moderator Report Posted March 15, 2011 What is the advantage of using "the mix" over using just plain old water? The leather is softer when I am done. If I want to make something that needs the leather stiffer, I use warm water. Quote
gtwister09 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 (edited) Nick, Ditto to what Bruce says. He is one of the strongest supporters of the No More Tears Formula that there is. I have used water, water with alcohol and very warm water with alcohol for molding as well. I know the saddlemaker/carver who shared the formula many many years ago had used it for almost 3 decades at the time he told me about it. He swore by it for lots of various reasons. Your mileage may vary. Regards, Ben Edited March 16, 2011 by gtwister09 Quote

G-day Bruce I am thinking with your reply that if I want to case Leather for a holster ( Horse butt ) I should use just plain old water ? Cheers Nick Quote
