Members marine mp Posted March 25, 2011 Members Report Posted March 25, 2011 Pman, I really don't know how long it will stay tacky, but........I've always rubbed in Kiwi Nuetral shoe polish to break the shine, and it looses it's tackiness.. Sorry for the "around the goalpost" answer, but thats the best I can do. Maybe someone else can put in some better intel. Semper-fi Mike Quote

PMAN....re-read the instructions on the container... when spraying, once over lightly when using an applicator dampen it first with water, use long one directional strokes ONCE OVER TO PREVENT TACKY BUILD-UP. this is the way i do it. hope this helps. Members Colt Hammerless Posted March 25, 2011 Members Report Posted March 25, 2011 I cut resolene 50/50 with water. I put on one coat, then put on a second coat after a few hours using a small foam paint brush. Doing this, I find it loses it's tackiness after about a day and a half. This is in AZ. Don't know if the lack of humidity makes a difference or not. But, give it 36 to 48 hours, and it should be good. I've used neutral shoe polish after that as well, but only after the tackiness subsided. Have never tried it right after, but sounds like it works. Colt Hammerless Quote
Members pman Posted March 27, 2011 Author Members Report Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) still a little tacky no matter how thin I make the resolene layer. I just sprayed a light coat of Pledge on top, and that seemed to cover the tackiness and make it slippery Edited March 27, 2011 by pman Quote
