azrider Report post Posted March 31, 2011 I don't know about IL, but I have had one in both Kansas and Arizona for two different businesses. Both were granted through the state department of revenue. They have requirements about how often I have to file, and report my sales so they get their chunk of it. I would probably start by googling "Sole Proprietor" and "IL sales tax license." Did the whole thing on-line and had the number the next day. As suggested, search the internet, I would be surprised if Illinois does not have a way to obtain one on line.
