Guitar Strap

My DH has started back into leathercraft, he just finished himself a guitar strap.

Tooled with basket weave, lined with velvety soft lining leather, antiqued finish and laced on all edges with natural leather lace.

He said it's the first thing he has done in about 25 years.

I think its beautiful and he was glad for the practice and getting back in the groove.

He makes nice things. I'm so proud of him.

That's awsome. That would be a really cool looking belt as well. The only musical instrument I can play is the radio, but I can see nice craftsmanship.

What is a DH?

What is a DH?

DH= Dear Husband....

he made custom belts for many years, tooled, filigree and cut away backgrounds. Lots of lacing on those too.

Thanks for the kind words

Very nice work, I can't imagine how long that took to lace.

Thankyou all for kind comments. The lacing took about 8 hours as far as I recall.

It looks amazing! Is that basket weave the same as the "Top Plait"? Just a different name for it?
