Members cowgirlrae Posted April 15, 2011 Members Report Posted April 15, 2011 My DH has started back into leathercraft, he just finished himself a guitar strap. Tooled with basket weave, lined with velvety soft lining leather, antiqued finish and laced on all edges with natural leather lace. He said it's the first thing he has done in about 25 years. I think its beautiful and he was glad for the practice and getting back in the groove. He makes nice things. I'm so proud of him. Quote
Members wvcraftsman Posted April 15, 2011 Members Report Posted April 15, 2011 That's awsome. That would be a really cool looking belt as well. The only musical instrument I can play is the radio, but I can see nice craftsmanship. What is a DH? Quote
Members cowgirlrae Posted April 15, 2011 Author Members Report Posted April 15, 2011 What is a DH? DH= Dear Husband.... he made custom belts for many years, tooled, filigree and cut away backgrounds. Lots of lacing on those too. Thanks for the kind words Quote
Members Trapsdog Posted April 15, 2011 Members Report Posted April 15, 2011 Very nice work, I can't imagine how long that took to lace. Quote
Members PANTHER Posted April 17, 2011 Members Report Posted April 17, 2011 The strap is so very nice and your lacing is spot on including the color. Panther Quote

Members OdinUK Posted January 20, 2012 Members Report Posted January 20, 2012 It looks amazing! Is that basket weave the same as the "Top Plait"? Just a different name for it? Quote
