HARVEY Report post Posted April 22, 2011 Perhaps we ought to try and get together/meet one of the evenings. For the life of me, I don't understand why the Stohlman Award and dinner was moved to Thursday night. (But then again, hard as it may seem to believe, I wasn't consulted.) That's the same night traditionally King's Ropes and Saddlery throws their big open-air shindig, with marching band and all: a HELLUVA lot of fun. For those folks not going to the awards show, maybe we can get together at King's. (If for some reason King's may not have their feed, maybe Friday night at SLO - Sheridan Leather Outfitters). Maybe we can wear low-key LEATHERWORKER.NET adhesive tags, just to ID one another. So . . . who's going? Harvey Los Angeles

Rod and Denise Nikkel Report post Posted April 22, 2011 According to the show booklet, the days of these events have changed this year. The show is Thursday through Saturday now, no Sunday. King's gathering is Wednesday night and Sheridan Leather Outfitter's is Thursday night, opposite the awards reception. We'll be there! We're teaching a seminar all day Thursday in the Appaloosa Room and we will have a booth by the restaurant too, so we will be easy to find during the show if anyone is looking for us. I think the LW name tag is a good idea. Putting faces and real names to the names we have on here is always good fun!
Johanna Report post Posted April 23, 2011 I'll be there- glad you told us the new dates, Denise! I didn't see anything about it in the Journal today. Harvey- can't wait to see you! Thank you for your lovely letter. LW name tags...hmmm... any volunteers? I don't think we need 16,000+, but we'd need quite a few! LOL Maybe everyone should make their own? There are so many of you I want to meet, and lots of others I want to hang out with again! And Kings is an experience not to be missed. Seriously. You could spend days in the museum and not see everything, and the company is wonderful. SLO puts on a good barbque (Tim Klefner, take a bow!) There is so much to do and so many great people- the time seems to go by way too quickly! Johanna

Richard Hidalgo Report post Posted April 24, 2011 Harvey, Once again, if the creeks (bayous) don't rise and it they still allow cajuns in Sheridan, I plan to be there. I really would like to meet with this group and/or the IILG. At least it would be nice if we had readable name tags. Hope to see you there. Best Regards, Richard Hidalgo
Cobra Steve Report post Posted April 25, 2011 Hey all, I will be there. I would be glad to meet with whoever I haven't met yet. For everone else.....see you there. It will be just as fun this year as all of the previous years! Steve
Elsa Report post Posted April 27, 2011 I'll be there Thursday through Sunday (perhaps earlier) and I'm both excited and terrified! This is my first time to any trade show and I have a really hard time in busy/crowded areas - especially if I don't know very many folks there. I'm picking up my machines from Cobra Steve (YEAH!), so I can't chicken out. I'd love to meet other Leatherworker.net folks and hope you'll forgive in advance for being a nervous, clueless spaz. ~ Elsa
rcsaddles Report post Posted April 27, 2011 I'll be there also. I have the privilege of teaching a class on Friday afternoon but will be over at the Best Western. Won't be in until mid morning on Friday and leaving on Saturday afternoon. I like the idea of name tags. Last year, Mark told me he had a handlebar mustache and I told him I would be wearing a black Stetson. We found each other so it really is not that hard to do. Lets keep this going as it is only a few weeks away. Sounds like something Friday night would work best for me but let me know.
Johanna Report post Posted April 27, 2011 I just ordered some leatherworker.net name tags that we'll have to write our names on, but that should do the trick! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, meeting new folks and smelling all the leather! Less than a month, folks! whoo-hooo!
HARVEY Report post Posted April 28, 2011 I just ordered some leatherworker.net name tags that we'll have to write our names on, but that should do the trick! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, meeting new folks and smelling all the leather! Less than a month, folks! whoo-hooo! Yep, I've got two ideas for us, or maybe three. (Never was any good in math.) I too will have some printed labels for anyone I meet that we can just slap on our shirts or blouses, saying LW.NET in red. I suggest we try and meet twice: first time at King's shindig on Wednesday night. Second time Friday night at Sheridan Leather Outfitters. This way shouldn't interfere with any classes or such. Also, some folks may not make it in on Wednesday, or be leaving early. Two get-togethers doubles our chances for meeting one another.

Denise Report post Posted May 1, 2011 Denise I tried to get my dates changed so I could take your class but I'll be teaching Wednesday through Friday so I hope to be able to meet you and Rod at one of the parties! Bobby Bobby, Our loss is the gain of everyone taking your classes I'm sure. We will be at both King's and SLO's gatherings, and we'll have a booth at the show too right by the restaurant in the atrium so we're easy to find. We'll look out for you. I'm looking forward to meeting people in real life!
