When using an adjustable V gouge to make a fold...do you first case the leather or do you make the gouge with the leather dry?

Actualy,i've done it both ways......but cased leather usually is a little easier. Mike

I too have done both...but actually I prefer it dry. And I always test the "depth" on a piece of scrap first so I don't go too deep on the cut.
