Singer29K15

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody, I am new to your community and just getting started. I have been given a Singer 29K15 and am trying to get it to work I think there are a couple of bits missing but hope I can solve with your help.

The first issue is I cannot increase the pressure on the sowing foot there does not appear to be a screw or device to adjust the foot. Any help would be great. How can I get a manual for the 29K15.

Loking forward to hearing from you all Thanks jp7 Sardinia.

There should be a long torsion spring running along the back of the body, from a slot in the pressor foot lift lever block to about 2/3 the way back. There should be a thumb screw in a housing over the spring that allows you to tighten or loosen the pressure on that spring, hence the pressor foot.

Hi Wiz many thanks for getting back to me on my 29K15 . I think I see the slot you refer to and there is a thumb screw two thirds of the way back along the body but there is no spring and I have some difficulty seeing how a horizontal spring along the back can increase the vertical foot pressure or am I just being stupid !!

More explanation would be great as I am a DIY man like yourself and would love for this machine to sew my leather.

Many thanks again from Sardinia to you in USA jp7.
