Members Mactechbri Posted May 24, 2011 Members Report Posted May 24, 2011 IWB Holster for a small 380. Hope you like. Bri Quote
Members Nooj Posted May 24, 2011 Members Report Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) I DO like it. Simple, effective, and attractive :-) The only thing I might would do different is to make the belt loop a little tighter to the belt to reduce some slack when drawing. Of course, if you have wider belts that you wear it on, then it would probably be just fine with those. Nice work. What button snaps did you use on this holster, and how do you like them? Oh- and thanks for the construction pics! It's always helpful and interesting to see the build phase of a project. Nooj Edited May 24, 2011 by Nooj Quote
Members Mactechbri Posted May 25, 2011 Author Members Report Posted May 25, 2011 I used Line 24 Snaps from Tandy. They are pretty good. Not too hard to snap/unsnap, and not too easy either. I know what you mean about the belt loop. I realized it was a tad too big after I riveted it on. Im still figuring things out though. Bri Quote
Members Nooj Posted May 25, 2011 Members Report Posted May 25, 2011 I used the same snaps on a ax sheath recently. I must've bent 5 of the caps, trying to set them. Can you get to the strap on your holster to un snap it fairly well? I have to do a lot of figuring out on all of my projects, so you aren't alone, lol. The holster I'm about to finish I glued up, tore apart, and re-glued three times before I finally had it how I wanted. Nooj Quote
Members Mactechbri Posted May 25, 2011 Author Members Report Posted May 25, 2011 Im finding that both rivets and snaps seem to want to tilt to one side. I never seem to get them perfect. I am assuming that they are supposed to mushroom inside. But seem to slide one way or another. They are holding though. I saw your ax sheath last night, it looks good. Brian Quote
Members BOHUNTER Posted May 26, 2011 Members Report Posted May 26, 2011 When you set the snaps or rivets go slow taps and roll the tool around the head as you go, seems to work way better than Beating the (*&^ out of it! LOL I tried the hammer away first, rolling the tool works perfect and leaves a clean tooling. I wish I had a pistol to practice with. Im liking this leather working! Steve Quote
Members Mactechbri Posted May 27, 2011 Author Members Report Posted May 27, 2011 "slow taps and roll the tool around the head as you go" This is the kind of stuff I come here for. It only would have taken another 50 or so snaps to figure that out. I will try that next time. Bri Quote
