I think there is alot of different perceptions on the point of a tree flexing. Seems alot of people think it somehow helps with comfort etc... It was explained to me along time ago similar to what you were describing; The flex is there to help protect the integrity of the tree. If it didn't flex and was brittle, the first big hit it took would cause it to break. I have often wondered what the point of these trees with rubber bars is? Darc Quote
